The change of surrounding may have at first seemed temporary to your cat but as time went on she felt that the change was permanent and by pooping everywhere, she is marking her territory in her new environment.

ha ha ha. don’t be worried, i have 4 cats and 1 reason is because her litter box isn’t cleaned. you have to dump and refill the litter every month and scoop every 2 days also have two litter Boxes for her. if her box is clean try taking her to a vet.

My cat does that when the litter box is full. Check that. If that doesn’t work then you should take it to the vet.

either the boxes are dirty or he’s sick. Make a vet appointment

if indeed. the litter is clean-take the cat to the vet-going outside of the box can be a sign of illness-my last cat who did this had cancer-the one before that-kidney failure.

Cats will do this if they don’t like the cleanliness of the litter box.

Make sure you’re keeping the litter box extra clean, scooping at least once a day.

Some litter deodorizes also have something in them to attract cats to the box, which are usually used for litter training. Try using one of those to make sure he’s being attracted to the litter box all the time.

You should take her to the vet for a check-up just to make sure there isn’t an underlying health problem.

If the vet gives her the all clear, then you can investigate behavioural causes. Where she soils will give you clues. If she’s going in private or hidden areas, this indicates a problem of some kind with the litter box arrangements. If she’s going in more open areas, or next to doors/windows then she may be marking territory because she’s feeling insecure. Are there any cats or wildlife hanging around outside she might be afraid of?

The web site below has a helpful check list of 18 reasons why cats stop using their litter box. If it turns out that she is marking territory, you’ll also find advice on dealing with that behaviour.
