whats happens after you pay a bailiff off in full?
About 2 months ago my husband got in to a bit of debt and we had a Bailiff come round to our house. At the time we did not have enough money to pay the debt in full so the bailiff agreed for us to pay £20 per week he also wrote out a walk in processions order. I was shocked by what they had written down. Some of the items listed I did not think they were even aloud to take they listed every thing that was in my lounge including sofa, all other furniture, My children's toys, my sons special need laptop and even rug on the floor. Any way we paid every week on time and have never missed a payment have receipts for every payment. Then at the beginning of last week I received a letter from the bailiffs accusing us of missing a payment then it went on to say that they had cancelled our payment plan and that they wanted full payment by today or they will come and take away all are stuff tomorrow. I contacted them and as we had come in to some extra money I paid off the debt in full.I received a receipt. and so have now completely paid off the debt. but they bailiffs are still hassling me and accusing us of not paying even tough we have and have the receipts. they are demanding more money. Can they do this. Im really concerned that they are going to come tomorrow and take are stuff even though we have paid in full. I am really scared and don't know what to do. What should I do. As I have paid the debt off in full what should happen now.. Does the walk in possession order still stand or not if they come to my house can they take out stuff. I am really concerned as Ive got to go out tomorrow and I am worried that I am going to come home and find my house broken in to and my stuff taken by the bailiff. If they did do this could I report it to police a theft ( burglary as ive paid the debt in full and have proof. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
If it helps the Bailiff is Jacobs Bailiffs and the debt was for council tax. We ended up short on money when I became ill and my husband lost his job. things are getting better now financially. As my husband now has a ne job.
When I contacted them I asked the exactly how much I owed them including any fees and charges, They told me the amount and I gave them my card details and paid in full . I have checked my bank account and they have taken correct amount
I paid off every thing both the origonal debt and fees. It clearly outlines and shows all fees on last reciept and clearly shows I have paid them. The origonal debt was £395. all the fees added up to £100 I have paid all in full.
Please help what should I do.

Have you paid off both the debt AND the bailiffs’ costs? It’s not enough just to clear the original debt.
If you have paid off both the debt and all costs, then they should not be pursuing you any more. Is it possible that you have your sums wrong?
Any which way, if you ask them, they should explain to you how much you owe and why you owe it (eg original judment or costs), and that’s what I recommend strongly that you do.
