What do you think of the name of my new business?
I am starting a business to sell handmade antiques and rugs from the Middle East and Africa. Wondering what you think of the name "Bab Elsama".
a) Does it give the impression and feeling of authenticity?
b) Does it give the impression of the east?
c) Do you like the name in general?
Note: "Bab elsama" means "Door of the sky".

First of all, it is difficult to say. It doesn’t roll off the tongue easily and it has no meaning to an American customer.
Second, it sounds like Osama Bin Laden in its shared letters. Just being honest.
You should stress the “exotic” aspect of your products…
EXOTIC ORIGINALS
EASTERN EXOTICS
EASTERN AUTHENTICS
Just some ideas for examples
Good Luck

a) yes
b) yes
c) not very much. The name does not give any information about your business or its products. I think that people will go “next” when you make it too hard for them to figure out what you are about. It sounds nice and exotic though.
Good luck with your business!
