What color should I paint my bedroom?
my husband has a lot of nautical items such as model boats, and pictures and such, so I wanted to do a nautical theme. One of his pictures that I want to feature in the bedroom has a navy blue matting and different nautical knots. The only thing I can think of to paint the bedroom is blue, but our living room, both hallways, and bathroom is blue, and our living room furniture and carpet is blue. I don't know if I can stand another shade of blue in the house! What can I paint the bedroom that would go with the nautical theme, but isn't blue? I thought of white or cream, but I don't know, I kind of wanted something with color! Any suggestions?
Tina, that sounds great! But this is an old house and the walls are definitely NOT square, which makes trying to paint lines nearly impossible, I tried that in my living room and gave up! Thanks though!
oh my furniture is dark, I think it's cherry wood.

u could do navy, red and white stripes…what im thinking is : all white, a thin-steady stripe of red and a few spaces under-so some white shows-a thicker navy line. sound good?

Navy blue and beige.

White with a red trim goes well with the blue nautical theme. If your not into red then do a blue trim to match the mat. If you want more color do one wall red. You can always add color to the curtains and bedspread if you keep the walls white. Good Luck!

Use a sandy color on three of the walls and maybe a navy on an accent wall or even a red. Behr sells a nice sandy color called "Arabian Nights" that looks great with white trim. If you do paint an accent wall navy, then accent with red; if you paint the wall red, accent with navy.

a bright strawberry red for the walls, blue trimming around the ceiling&white ceiling, I don’t know the color of your furniture, if it is white, then your carpets could be navy blue OR each wall could be painted of a different color white, orange, yellow &green with white clouds in the ceiling and white furniture or natural brown color and sandy gray carpet

Yellow is a good color. Or a sandy color.

How about seafoam green? It’s such a relaxing color and perfect for a nautical theme.

I would personally choose a deep red, but I love color. You could just paint one wall red though.
If you want color, but red is overwhelming, a nice, stormy gray wall color with a hint of blue would ROCK! This would be great with furniture slipcovered in white or maybe cream.
Of course, white or cream wall paint with red, yellow, and blue accents would work too. Good Luck!

You should play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find something you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

They have a color called "windfresh white" that’s actually a very pale gray. I think it would show off the picture & the furniture beautifully while keeping the nautical feel. OTOH, since you say that you want something with more color, maybe something like "jute brown" - it’s the color of wood or ship’s tackle.
