Making concrete floor livable?
I recently put a few pieces of sheetrock together to create a shack. Insulation and everything is fine, but I'm looking for a cheap solution to make the concrete floor walkable.
What are the basic steps to tile it? Is that the best solution? I do not want a carpet or a rug. It is about 20'x20'

have you thought about the foam flooring looks like a puzzle? there is a floor for basements at homedepot that is rubber on bottome and plywood on top. What about a garage paint, I stained a concrete sunroom and it turned out great. You can lay a floating floor, or stencil it. You can put a vinyl or ceramic tile over it. peel and stick is easy do it yourself project
just remember your floor may need to be repaired, fixed, or prepped. And if you paint or stain your floor make sure you seal it. if you have lots of moisture this can lead to swelling or mold/mildew issues.
Basic steps is repair and clean the surface, water proof/ seal floor. Install thinset mortar with adhesive additive, and lay tiles according to your design. let it dry 24 hours, go back and grout it, let it dry another 24 hours, then seal the tile and grout lines

A cheaper option would be floor paint.

You could tile it, but I think a simple concrete spray paint would look just as nice. I had outdoor carpet on my porch and patio, and I got tired of it. I ripped it up, cleaned it, and spray painted it with a texturized terra cotta colored paint. It’s about 4 bucks a can, and took me 12 cans on a 20×30 surface area. Certainly cheaper than the cheapest tile.

Lay down waterproof plastic sheet, cover with 2" insulation foam sheet, cover with plywood or cheaper particle board, and either paint or cover with old carpet. VERY COMFORTABLE to walk on.
