Like an idiot I bought a white rug. It doesn’t fit in my washer, it’s quite large. How do I clean it?

I believe it's also too large for the laundry mat.
All it says is that it's 100% polypropylene latex.

You can buy steam cleaners for about the same price as a vacuum cleaner at stores like Target and Wal-Mart. It might be a big investment if you’d only use it once a year, but if you think you’ll clean your rug once a month or once a week, it might be worth it. And it could end up being a lot cheaper in the long run than having to rent something or pay someone every time you spill something!

If it is washable, then wash it in the bath. I used to do that with mine before I had my house properly carpeted. I used washing powder and a scrubbing brush and then took it out into the garden and hung it on the washing line to rinse it with a hose. All you need is a dry spell and then you can hang it out on the washing line to dry. It took a couple of days, but came up looking as good as new.

If its washable, you can take it to a laundromat, they have the large machines. Also, if you have a really big comforter or washable curtains, that are heavy. It saves wear and tear on your machine.
