I'm called a terrorist for being Persian?

I know there are many ignorant people out there, but I'm a freshman and in class people give me all sorts of crap like "go fly your magic carpet" or "sandman"
I also have a friend who is Puerto Rican and jokes around about me being a terrorist.
whats a good comeback to make these people look stupid or feel bad?
well there's this kid who was raised in Egypt for a few years, but is American and doesn't look Egyptian.
How can I use that to my advantage?

I agree with ignoring them and look at them like they are a dumb azz because that is in fact what they are acting like.

You know, in 5 years, after you’ve all graduated, none of this will matter. To them or to you. You will have matured and overcome the sensitivities of your freshman year.

I guess I could just tell them that!

"I don’t care what you think. And in 5 years, you won’t care about saying that either." Let them ponder that a bit.

It makes you sound more mature already.

It’s a game, and you feel out how you want to counter. If you want to avoid aggressive confrontation, try humor.

Like, "I would go fly my magic carpet, but this stupid country won’t let me have a flying license for two more years." Or, "My carpet is at the cleaners."

"Sandman" doesn’t sound all that bad to me. Not a bad nickname, in fact. But I’m guessing it’s said in a divisive, not-nice way. You could just say, "Sandman. Yeah, I like that," and make it your own.

The terrorist thing is just lame. In fact, you can just tell the guy it’s lame, and he should come up with something better.

lol your friend is just joking around say to him save me a breakfast burrito the ones that say the crap about magic carpet if it is in a joking way just laugh it off and say something like "w.e wonderbread" have fun with it ..but if they are serious just ignore them and dont even look at them they will feel stupid summer vacation is almost here i think isnt it and you can always change around your classes if it starts to really bother you:)

Don’t sink to that level. The truth is I am a WOP or Greaseball perhaps . I don’t care who wants to call me that and it does not bother me. If their tone is offensive I will just flatten their ass. If they are just joking around, then I will say something like keep talking chunky, or whatever their heritage or defect is. Everyone has one, I wish people would not be so sensitive about it. They are just words. So what I’m of Italian heritage, I am not embarrassed about it, in fact I am proud. Be proud of who you are, and don’t worry if others try to belittle you, if they are serious about it then they are likely covering for an insecurity they have. You could just ask what about themselves are they so unhappy with that they have to try and attract attention towards others.

School sucks, for that reason. I have a friend who was made fun of because he was Russian :/. People got bored after a while, wasn’t funny. Same joke got lame. I have another friend who got made fun of because he was Mexican and everyone was pretending he had the swine flu even though he hadn’t been in Mexico for 3 years. Sad… I’m sure it’s normal if a person from a foreign country comes in, people will make jokes. It is common. The best thing you can do is not insult them, and simply ignore them. Insulting back will not make anything better… trust me, especially if it is more than one person.

Nicholas made the most awesome things to say lol.
