how to clean water stops from a jute and wool rug?

The fringe has white areas from water that dried on the fringe. How can I remove them?

Soak them with straight white vinegar for ten minutes and the blot it up with a clean white cloth.

Rinse it with distilled water and the blot it up with a clean white cloth.

Repeat the rinse process a couple more times.

Put a fan on it to dry the carpet as fast as possible.

    Good luck!
