Oh gosh. I am going to suggest Odo Ban. Try it in a small area first to make sure it doesn’t take the color out. Use it full strength.

It will kill the smell of cat urine. Which is far worse than a canine’s.

A 50/50 solution of vinegar and water. Spray it on the rug and soak it up with a paper towel. Might need to repeat it a couple of times.

I know oriental rugs are different from regular carpet though, so you might want to get a professional to clean it.

PetSmart and other pet stores sell a product called Petzyme. It has live bacteria in it that naturally desolves the odor, and takes care of the stain. You spray it on the area saturated in urine; make sure to flip the rug over to see where it all soaked up because it won’t show up as much on top. I know, trust me.
Anyway, this is what the professionals use to clean carpets. It takes care of smells and stains associated with animal urine, feces, vomit and blood. My brother worked for a professional carpet cleaning business, and they used this for carpets that had animal stains.
If you put it into a steam cleaner it is absolutely amazing!
I use this all the time, and a few of my friends have actually begged me to come clean their rugs with it. It has a good smell, and the best thing is that it gets the smell out completely so the dog can’t smell it and want to pee in the same spot again.

in the past, i have generously sprinkled baking soda on the smelly part of a dry carpet. let it sit for at least a few hours, but preferably overnight, then sweep up what you can and vacuum the rest. i used it where my dog vomited and it worked nicely.
