how did I get these white maggot like worms on my wet towel?

ok please don't say maggots.moved to new apartment three months ago.my daughter dropped water on floor last night, I was tired but I did put a towel on top of the water (didn't think water would hurt) SO I wroke up this morning, me and my daughter went to lay on the couch and watch cartoons, and there they where in all nastyness weaving themselves into the towel ( don't say maggots :.( They were on top of the towel and on the bottom of the towel which was faced to the floor. How could flys lay eggs on the bottom of the towel facing the ground (tiled floor,no carpet in house)? Also they were very very white. Pure white inside and out (This is really nasty) no color at all. could I get maggots from a wet towel left over night or is this something else? the floor is clear of dirt and these nasty things were'nt interested in my trash.I put a relaxer in my hair this morning. I went to clean the chemicals out of the tub when another one fell into the tub from nowhere. what's going on here?

It sounds like maggots of bathroom flies.

This info is from the What’s that Bug? website.
Bathroom Fly, Clogmia albipunctata, one of the Family of Moth Flies, Psychodidae. They like damp areas, and are often found in bathrooms indoors and near stagnant water and cesspools. The larva live in the much found in drains and dead-flow areas of household plumbing.

You’ve definitely got an insect infestation. Any houseflies? Do you hang your laundry outside? That’d be my first guess.

Toss some in a medicine bottle or a jar with a piece of damp cotton or tp and let them hatch out, then take them to your local extension service office for identification. Then you can figure out what to do.

    And I won’t say the "m" word.

It might have fallen from the the ceiling. A rat might have died there.

I’d worry more that you are watching cartoons. You have to get into gear and clean that house. Water on the floor and you just threw a towel on it? How about wiping up the water. The towels had eggs on them already. Good god, did anyone teach you how to do laundry? You must be some homemaker. That house must be filthy.
