How can I buy something from Iran?
I wanted to buy a decorative vase for a friend of mine that is into those sort of things. I've emailed a friend of mine in Iran and she sent me a few websites of companies in Iran, but they seem like real small companies and I have to call them for a price and to see if they actually deliver to the US. It seems real strange and I don't want to get ripped off for a few hundred bucks. Also, am I legally allowed to buy anything from Iran? I know that there is an embargo against buying anything from Cuba, but can I buy something from Iran? The best thing would be to find some Iranians that moved to the US and maybe own a small business that handcrafts these things. Does anyone know of such a place with a website that I can look through their stuff? I'm looking for a vase, plates, bowls, lamps, etc, not a carpet. And something unique and handmade. Thanks.

The best way way would be to get your friend to order it for you and have it sent to her house, then have her ship it to you.

Buying unique and antique stuffs in Iran can not be easily done as the web based infrastructure is not well made in this regard, the best way is to see and select them, but if it’s not possible, you need to describe what do you want and then have someone order them and ship them directly to you,
you definitely can buy from Iran, but the distance may make the process expensive for you.
