I have removed old carpet from unfinished hardwood floors what has been left some of the carpet padding and the woven fibers(from the padding) which have stuck to the floor in some areas. my question is any suggestions on lifting the fiber threads left on the floor.

I crochet, and i really like it. Other than Knitting, and embroidery/quilting, what other options do I have for fiber arts? I know there is weaving, which seems fun. Can you tell me more about carpet braiding? What other options do I have, that are relatively inexpensive?

I am thinking of investing in a loom, and making carpets at home. I am also thinking of getting a few sheep and doing the shearing myself, then spinning it. Is this something that will drive my wife wild?
