Artificial silk rugs cleaned but charged as wool?
I had 3 rugs cleaned. One was a regular synthetic rug from Home Depot and the other two were artificial rugs from Bed Bath and Beyond. When I brought them in, they told me that the the two small ones were wool. I didn't think that they were but what did I know. When I picked them up I read the tags and they clearly stated artificial silk. I was charged dollars each for those and they were one 3' round rug and the other a 2' x 4' rug. Did I just get screwed?? The other rug only cost and it was 5' x 7'.

Artificial silk is very difficult to clean. There are many risks of the rug being ruined in the process. Sometimes, when art silk is cleaned, you’re charged the same price as regular silk. If you paid the same price that they charged for wool, then I’d say you weren’t overcharged according to that store’s prices. It sounds like on the whole, though, that that place has slightly higher than average Oriental rug cleaning prices. Next time, call around and ask for the price per square foot for rug cleaning.
