any ideas on this coffee stain?
well, this brain child walked into his dark room except for the glow of the computer screen and set down his freshly made espresso onto the desk. my computers on an antique country table. well,i set it down on air...thinking i was setting it down on the table. it landed on a oatmeal color Berber carpet. i grabbed a towel and blotted and watered down with dish detergent and scrubbed. i thought i solved this nasty stain but this morning i see a 12 inch square or coffee stain. can i get the stain out? without a lot of items i will need to buy.i guess i could have a permanent pizza box over the stain but i would opt for the clean carpet..its a dense berber..a blend.thank you sweet ladies!

This is a lot easier than you think. The thing will carpet stains, is cleaning, blotting and weighting. You are on the right track with dish detergent. Get a bowl, put in some warm water, a squirt of dish washing liquid, and a squeeze of a lemon (if you have lemon, if not don’t worry about it). Sponge the cleaning solution into the stain and give it a few seconds to penetrate. Get a clean cloth and blot up the stain. Repeat until the blotted up water is clear (no sign of coffee.) Now the critical part, Lay a paper towel over the stain, put a clean dry folded cloth over the paper towel and stack books (or anything heavy) I usually go with 4 old heavy college text books) over the cloths. Let sit overnight. In the morning, remove the books, the cloth and the paper towel. The paper towel should have absorbed any of the remaining coffee that was embedded in the fibers. Viola stain gone!
